Trips from London Manchester & Bristol

If you feel like seeing more of the United Kingdom, these towns and the surrounding area have a wealth of unexpected charm, ranging from rock-brown musical and street art, architectural feats to scenic areas, even the savviest of the United Kingdom.

The following cities are not only an ideal jaunt from London but also a starting point for exploring the landscape and even deeper.

  • Hebden Bridge
  • Edale
  • Bath Skyline Walk
  • Weston Super Mare
  • The New Forest National Park
  • Windsor

Hebden Bridge

Ready to get out of town? Lower than a two-hour drive from Manchester are the beautiful deep valleys, heather-strewn wetlands, and charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. When you’re short, it’s only 30 minutes to the quirky, artist and musician-related market city of Hebden bridge, to visit the tomb of Sylvia Plath and walk along the canal.

Edale

Edale is the ideal retreat for nature lovers as the gateway to Pennine Road. Edale is a walker’s paradise all around the famous rough scenery of the Peak District. Choose from a choice of guided walks or take a map. In Norwegian times, go straight towards Chateau Peveril with its boutique views for a taste of what the area would have been like.

Bath Skyline Walk

Over the historical city of Bath, the National Trust Skyline Walk shows a fairy and eleven-way through the trees with doors for investigative explorers. There is also an epic rope swing, a wooden play area with escalators, and balancing beams for the young gymnasts with a panoramic view across the crescents of Bath. Hop from the trail to a pub or two in town along the route.

Weston Super Mare

An all-natural playground in the center of the Weston Woods keeps your kids hourly entertained. Pick up a picnic, sit back, and relax, with a zip line, hikes, and climbs that keep the kids engaged. Weston-super-Mare is the ideal place to paddle and take a walk along the walk.

The New Forest National Park

All the wild ponies roaming around are one of the biggest attractions in the New Forest. In the New Forest National Park, about 3000 beautiful creatures live, so it is almost certain you will be seeing them driving around here.

Please drive safely, as I mentioned before! The ponies control (so to speak) the roost and keep your eyes on the way. Some riding schools are also in the area and this is so great to get to see the New Forest on horseback. Many tours take place, some last a few hours traveling, and others last all day.

Windsor

Though over 1000 years old, Windsor Castle remains an official royal residence. The robust medieval exterior shelters splendidly decorated halls and rooms, countless works of art and treasures, all of them from the Royal Collection. Take a guided tour, and don’t miss a moment to see the change of the guard to take full advantage of your visit.

Would you like to visit Bristol?

For the third time in four years, Bristol was elected as the British best location for a living in the Sunday Times in 2021. It was also named one of the world’s 5 best places to study and even one of the world’s 10 best cities in the past.

Is Stonehenge worth seeing?

Stonehenge doesn’t value it IMO alone; but I think that it’s a very worthwhile task if you take it a few days to include Bath, Salisbury, and Avebury. It is probably not possible to stay in London and to sleep in Salisbury for only four days unless it is 4 days and then a few days.
